Close the loop on phishing simulation results

An open-ended phishing simulation is a metric that keeps drifting, with never a clean point to say “here’s what this campaign proved.” Simulations can now be marked Completed, giving every campaign a defined lifecycle without losing its results to an archive.

What’s new

  • Completion state: Mark a simulation Completed after delivery, or set a completion date so it closes automatically.
  • Preserved reporting: Completed simulations stop collecting new results, but existing results stay in aggregate reporting, unlike Archive, which removes them.
  • Reopen when needed: Reopen a completed simulation to resume activity if a campaign needs to run longer.
  • Refreshed UI: New status pill design, banner, and copy across phishing simulations, now applied product-wide.

Why it matters

Reporting that leans on phishing click and report rates alone already limits how much of a real risk-reduction story a security team can tell a board. Giving each simulation a defined completion point makes that reporting more precise and defensible. Leadership can point to a specific, closed campaign and its results, instead of an indefinitely open number that keeps shifting underneath them.
This is built for security awareness and human risk program leads running simulation programs at scale across cohorts and business units, where knowing exactly which results belong to which campaign matters for audit trails. It’s a small but pointed contrast with legacy SAT platforms that treat phishing simulations as one sprawling, ongoing metric optimized for completion counts rather than a clean, closed record of what was tested and what happened.

How to access it: Open Simulations page in the Fable platform and select Complete, or set an auto-close date.
